Kids in Glass Houses

After almost 9 years away, Kids In Glass Houses returned to the stage at Slam Dunk festival in May 2023 to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of their breakout album Smart Casual.   This appearance was followed by the sold out THIS 15 SMART CASUAL Live Tour in October 2023

Originally released on May 26th, 2008, Smart Casual was the South Wales quintet’s debut album and was made available on limited edition Clear Vinyl, as well as a series of limited edition colour cassettes on the bands D2C store, from October 13, 2023.

Remixed by Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral For a Friend, Motorhead), long time collaborator and friend, the album features the hit singles Easy TigerGive Me What I Want & Saturday

Aled Phillips (vocals) explains: "Writing, recording and touring Smart Casual was our John Hughes coming-of-age era and it’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years. Getting back together with the boys in a room and celebrating those songs that carry so much meaning for us has been such a privilege and it’s been so humbling reading and speaking to people who have an affinity to those songs.

We’ve wanted to give the album a wider vinyl release for a long while and to have our very talented friend Romesh remix and remaster the album to celebrate 15 years has been an incredible bonus. I genuinely believe it sounds better than ever and I’m excited for everyone to hear a fresh perspective on it that enhances it.”

About Kids in Glass Houses:

Bursting out of South Wales’ hotbed of talent in early 2007, the charismatic quintet Kids in Glass Houses found a large and loyal fanbase almost instantly thanks to their huge songs, tireless work ethic, charming demeanours and stylish aesthetic, with media support to match.

It was frontman, Aled Phillips, who started the band, while still in school in 2004. It would be another two years before the right line up – consisting of guitarists Joel Fisher and Iain Mahanty, bassist Andrew Shay and drummer Phil Jenkins – was found amongst a variety of young bands doing the rounds on the South Wales circuit, but once the quintet were together, there was no stopping them.  And after signing to Roadrunner Records, Kids In Glass Houses became an essential part of the UK’s musical landscape.

With four successful albums under their belt (Smart Casual, DIRT, In Gold Blood, Peace) and a live reputation envied by many, Kids In Glass Houses proved to be one of British rock’s finest talents. Throughout their career the band headlined stages globally & appeared on line ups alongside Paramore, Stereophonics, Fall Out Boy & You Me At Six. They graced the covers of multiple magazines, had numerous Radio 1 playlisted singles & TV performances including Children In Need, MTV, & the 2012 Olympics.
