Kids in Glass Houses

Bursting out of South Wales’ hotbed of talent in early 2007, the charismatic quintet Kids in Glass Houses found a large and loyal fanbase almost instantly thanks to their huge songs, tireless worth ethic, charming demeanors and stylish aesthetic, and media support to match. Kerrang! Magazine named them one of ‘The Hottest New Bands On The Planet’ in 2007; they won the Welsh Music Award for ‘Best New Band’ the same year and they were named Punktastic’s ‘Band Of The Year’ in 2008. And in the years since signing to Roadrunner Records, Kids In Glass Houses have become an essential part of the UK’s musical landscape.
It was frontman, Aled Phillips, who started the band, while still in school in 2004. It would be another two years before the right line up – consisting of guitarists Joel Fisher and Iain Mahanty, bassist Andrew Shay and drummer Phil Jenkins – was found amongst a variety of young bands doing the rounds on the South Wales circuit, but once the quintet were together, there was no stopping them.

Now, with three successful albums under their belt (Smart Casual, DIRT, In Gold Blood) and a live reputation envied by many, Kids In Glass Houses are proven to be one of British rock’s finest talents. With fans at Radio 1 such as Zane Lowe, Fearne Cotton, Huw Stephens, and Dev showing love for latest longplayer In Gold Blood, the band have also these past 10 months appeared on their first Kerrang! cover, performed at Sonisphere, T in the Park and V Festival, headlined their own UK tour, toured Japan and Australia, supported their good friends You Me At Six on their UK tour, headlined Hit The Deck festival, and are about to play Liverpool Sound City, Camden Crawl and the Great Escape.
